Well known Indian designer duo Falguni & Shane Peacock – synonymous with cutting edge, avant-garde western-wear and with a huge fan following growing steadfastly across international waters – were in Goa to launch their first Falguni Shane Peacock Resort Wear Destination store at Marbela Beach Resort, Morjim.
And quite a launch it was, coinciding with the holiday season’s White Party hosted by Jaideep and Sheetal Rajebhonsale at Marbela. The highlight of the party undoubtedly was the much-look-forward-to FSP fashion show featuring the duo’s latest and most sexiest resort wear creations.
Bright, bold, floral and tropical colour and patterns to usher in the holiday festive mood and lightweight fabrics in warm palettes of blue, purple, aqua and orange, rich in texture and sexy on silhouette floored the audiences. Popular shades of white, along with blues (predominately favourites colours of 2016) were aplenty and perfect for the Goan easy breezy mood. Designed to extend into Spring-Summer wear, the collection focused on the bohemian with a more casual and playful temperament incorporating international silhouettes. Perfect for tropical environs Goa is known for and global travellers it entertains.
Speaking about the new venture in Goa, Falguni Peacock shared, “Resort is the best excuse to get a head start on revamping your Spring wardrobe. And because it’s a narrow season and sells out quickly, you can make a quick style statement via this new collection. The looks are comfortable and travel well. The collection is sophisticated, stylish, yet simple for a relaxed yet chic lifestyle,” she adds.
From a style perspective, the FSP Resort collection is very definitive of what the brand creates for itself and has to offer to its audiences: A different, unique signature sparking the element of `escape.’ Travel, holiday, leisure, fun, flirty expressed into cuts which Falguni believes makes the label “exciting and brings in longevity and a continued freshness to a nautical look.”
Shane Peacock adds, “A good cover-up can take you from spring to summer and be versatile enough to take you from the pool to the lounge. Our fundamental was to create a statement with bright colours, bold shapes and amazing trim details which never goes out of style. Resort wear resonates beach, warm weather and a perfect holiday. For example, the kaftan line is inspired by the stylish, colourful flavours of a lifestyle at sea with tunics that embody simple, yet exquisite living. Playfully paired prints, textures and colours create a beautiful effect. For us it was Goa. The perfect place for the FSB Resort Wear brand to be,” concludes Shane.

The collection unveiled at the White Party was a dynamic canvas of washed, striated kaftan dresses in sun-drenched brights, the season’s go-to look that can be worn with a skirt, capris or shorts. Day to evening ankle-length tank dresses in taupe, flexible enough to morph into night with a quick change of accessories. Flirty tie ups, blue-and-white graphic prints mixed with neon accents like yellow citrine were some of the hotties that had everybody going from Wow to OMG!
