Meet Dato’ David Gurupatham. Called to the bar in 1992 at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple London, and holds an active legal practice for almost 30 years. A certified mediator, a well accomplished commercial and corporate dispute resolution adviser, Dato David is a passionate advocate for civil society and human rights, believing in the responsibility to make the world a better place for the next generation.
He has served as Chair of Legal Aid at the Selangor Bar Committee, and has been active in the Malaysian Bar Council Legal Aid Committee and Law Reform. Dato David regularly acts pro bono for the indigenous people, defending customary land rights and environmental causes.
He recently co-founded Industries Unite – a coalition of 115 trade and business associations and chambers of commerce, representing 3.3 million businesses in Malaysia to lobby with the government in order to save local livelihoods during the State of Emergency and various lockdowns in Malaysia.
He also drives a Pay-It-Forward Charity Movement called `Project Satu Hati‘ aimed at saving local jobs in the F&B industry. In this interview Dato’ David discusses the Role Of Youth and Industry in Nation Building
