The one-of-a-kind, first time dining experience in Malaysia is curated by Chef Raymond Tham who runs the Dior Café.
What’s in the Dior Café ?
With the immaculate vista of the Twin Towers as a backdrop, diners will immerse in an epic experience in the evenings with a soiree-like atmosphere amidst the garden-themed setting. In addition to the indoor and outdoor dining area, the special exhibition space hosts a display of The Dior Early Spring Vacation 2022 series, whilst the Cafe menu is superbly curated by Chef Raymond Tham (chef of the famous Skillet@163 and Beta KL restaurant in the city). The exclusive menu created for the Dior Cafe covers appetizers, staple foods, desserts, hot and cold beverages, bringing together classic French flavours with a Greek twist around the concept of travel and fashion.
What are the menu highlights that guests can expect at the Dior Café?
Some of the standout dishes include the Local Calamari with Courgette Salad served with Umami Walnut made out of dehydrated fish bone and trimmings to promote zero-waste concept in cooking. The Poached Lobster with Compressed Watermelon, Fermented Tomato and Grilled Bell Pepper served with Beurre Noisette Foam is also another must-try — a dish using French technique while incorporating watermelon that is commonly used in Greek cuisine.
Other dishes with a Greek narrative include the Kataifi Pastry Poached Egg and Autumn Truffles; as well as the Gyros Spiced Chicken with Spinach and Lemon Curd in Filo Cup, which is inspired by Greek street food. For desserts, sample the Semolina and Pistachio Cake with Tahini Cream, as well as the Chocolate Pain de Genes with Greek Coffee.
Chef Tham explains, “Dior Cruise 2022 is about movement, freedom, and the athletic spirit inspired by the Greek goddess. This menu features a blend of Greek sensibilities and the French spirit of Maison Dior. Diners can expect some classic French flavours with a Greek twist on the menu.”
Why Greece?
If you watched the Dior show, the early Spring Vacation 2022 collection is an ancient Greek night tour inspired by the Haute Couture series taken by Christian Dior in 1951, in front of the site of the Parthenon Temple. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri also borrowed classic costumes from ancient Greece, which are reflected in the design of this series.
The collection also captures many elements such as star camouflage prints and hounds tooth patterns, creating sportswear that combines classical Greece and modernity. The collection has also used unique fabrics and handmade folds to present an elegant sense of the ancient Greek goddess style. The upper body is an elegant goddess costume, and the foot is in casual sports shoes, which collides with a refreshing aesthetics of dressing.
Check it out yourself, that is, if you can get yourself a seat 😉 Bookings, I learn, as already full.
